A15. How do you calculate maximum demand?

Maximum Demand (sometimes referred to as Capacity) is calculated by identifying the highest half hourly interval usage that occurs during each “To Date” period and multiplied by two to obtain the maximum demand expressed in kW.
  • Where Maximum Demand is for 5 minute intervals, the highest 5 minute interval usage that occurs during each ‘To Date’ period is identified and multiplied by 12 to obtain the maximum demand expressed in kW.
  • Where Maximum Demand is for 15 minute intervals, the highest 15 minute interval usage that occurs during each ‘To Date’ period is identified and multiplied by 4 to obtain the maximum demand expressed in kW.
  • Where Maximum Demand is for 30 minute intervals, the highest 30 minute interval usage that occurs during each ‘To Date’ period is identified and multiplied by 2 to obtain the maximum demand expressed in kW.

myEnergy shows the maximum demand that occurred at any time during the period displayed.
